This week Students watched a short video entitled "History of the Middle Ages" and answered related questions, also students worked on a map of Europe. The questions for the video were:
1. When was the period known as the Middle Ages, and why was it given this name?
2. Who was Charlemagne? Why was he an important figure during this time?
3. What were the Crusades?
4. What were some of the things the Crusaders learned from their expeditions?
5. What was the Black Death? Describe its symptoms.
6. Describe the effects of the Black Death on Europe during the late Middle Ages.
Map locations and color scheme are found on pgs. 385 and 394 in the text. The following sites must be labeled on your map:
Danube River
North Sea
Rhine River
Atlantic Ocean
Mediterranean Sea
British Isles
Alps Mountains
Pyrenees Mountains
Black Sea
Use the map on pg. 394 to color your map following the spread of Christianity and areas under Muslim rule - be sure to include a legend describing what color describes which time period.
