Today in History students worked on summarizing and answering questions about the culture of Japan. Students were asked to read pages 256-261 and answer the following questions:

1. What is the emphasis of Zen Buddhism?
2. How are noh and kabuki different from each other?
3. Why do historians value Lady Murasaki’s “The Tale of Genji”?
4. What new forms of literature and drama did the Japanese develop?
5. How did Japanese culture reflect an interest in natural beauty?
